DAY 1
We begin with a leisurely stroll through the city of Troyes, where its half-timbered houses, cobbled streets, and churches with remarkable stained-glass windows tell the story of a rich medieval past.
Next, head to Cellier Saint-Pierre to taste the famous Prunelle de Troyes, whose recipe they keep secret. For lunch, treat yourself to the quintessential dish of Aube gastronomy: the authentic Troyes andouillette sausage (and for those less adventurous, we promise there are other options).
In the afternoon, it’s time for Champagne with a cellar tour followed by a tasting of three iconic cuvées. Back in Troyes, enjoy some free time exploring the covered market: Troyes and Chaource cheeses, Champagnes, and the delicious pastries and chocolates of Pascal Caffet, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France)!
For those interested in the medieval period, step inside the Taverne des Compagnons de la
Table Ronde (Round Table Tavern) and sample beverages of yesteryear—mead, ale, or spiced wines.
Dinner in the city centre and overnight stay in a 3-star hotel.
DAY 2
Discover the cider museum, complete with a tasting and a ride on a miniature train through the orchards of the Pays d’Othe. Then, a change of scenery: head to Chaource for a lunch featuring local flavours (drinks included!).
In the afternoon, you’ll inevitably visit a traditional cheese dairy where Chaource cheese is hand-ladled into molds, following time-honored methods.
The day concludes in Les Riceys, the only village in Champagne with three appellations (Champagne, Coteaux Champenois, and Rosé des Riceys), for a tour of a winery and a tasting of Rosé des Riceys, Louis XIV’s favourite wine.
