Take a leap into the past by stepping through the gates of the Templar commandery of Avalleur, one of the few remaining Templar sites in France. Almost untouched, despite a few signs of age, the site has retained all its charm – which speaks volumes about the history it has witnessed...
After a break enjoying local delicacies, it’s time to discover Troyes, a medieval city with a rich past, closely linked to the history of the Knights Templar. The visit leads to the majestic cathedral, for it was here that Bernard of Clairvaux secured the approval of the Order of the Temple at the council of 1128.
Finish with a guided tour of the Hugues de Payns Museum. An opportunity to (re) discover the history of the founder of the Order of the Temple, and to explore the archaeological discoveries.
